Ducati launches Multistrada 950 and Monster 797 in India

The premium motorcycle segment is heating up in India with Ducati launching its latest Monster 797 and the lower power variant of its beautiful Multistrada, the 950.

The Ducati Monster 797 first showcased in the 2016 EICMA show in Italy is the smallest member of Ducati’s Monster range of naked motorcycles and borrows its engine from the Scrambler. The bike is powered by a a fuel injected, air-cooled 803cc L-twin engine that produces 74bhp @ 8,250rpm and 68.6Nm of torque @ 5,750rpm. The Ducati Multistrada 950, the smallest capacity member in the Multistrada family and Ducati’s newest addition to its adventure touring range. The 937cc Euro 4 twin engine produces 113hp @9000 rpm and 9.8kgm of torque will compete with the Triumph’s Tiger 800 series triple engine which produces 95 bhp and Honda’s Africa Twin at 87 bhp. 80% of maximum torque is available in the 3500 to 9000 rpm range. The bike sports a 19 inch front and 17 inch rear and will come shod with Pirelli Scorpion Trails 2. Fully adjustable Kayaba forks will do the suspension duties on the bike. One of the highlights of the Multistrada 950 is its low cost of ownership with a 15,000 km oil service and a 30,000 km service interval (will probably need more clarity on the service intervals and what each one entails).multistrada-2
